Register here: Join us on January 26 from 4-5pm in the GM Room, Horchow Hall for a talk and Q&A with Charles Weiss, who served as the World Bank’s first Science and Technology Advisor (1971-86and is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Georgetown University.  Professor Weiss is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a PhD in Chemical Physics and Biochemistry from Harvard University.

Professor Weiss’s book is titled, “The Survival Nexus: Science, Technology, and World Affairs.

The author will lead us through a conversation centered on issues at the intersection of science and policy. Attendees will have the opportunity to raise questions regarding a broad range of topics—including nuclear policy, climate disruption, globalization, social media and cyber security, and biotechnology. Yale community members of all disciplines and levels of expertise are encouraged to attend.
