Beyond Bits: Global Effects of Quantum Technology

Register here: Join us on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 7-8:30pm for a moderated panel followed by small group discussions on quantum technologies and their relevance to international affairs. The panel will feature Mark Ritter (Chair of Physical Science Council at IBM Research) and Robert Schoelkopf (Sterling Professor of Applied Physics and Professor of Physics; Director of Yale Quantum Institute). Both panelists are members of the U.S. National Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee.

Attendees will learn about the main types of modern quantum applications (sensing, communications, and computing), practical benefits and risks posed by these technologies, and implications for international relations. The panel will also provide insight into U.S. government policy on quantum tech.

Yale community members of all disciplines and levels of expertise are encouraged to attend.
