Arms Races in Outer Space: Physics and Politics

Register here: Join us on April 12th from 7-8:30pm in Room 101, Rosenfeld Hall for a moderated panel followed by small group discussions regarding outer space and global security. The panel will feature experts Laura Grego (Senior Scientist and Global Security Research Director, Union of Concerned Scientists) and Gershon Hasin (Martin R. Flug Visiting Lecturer in Law, Yale Law School). Attendees will learn about technologies ranging from anti-satellite weapons to spy balloons. The program will cover key physics considerations for understanding space security, as well as diplomatic and regulatory approaches to limit arms races. Yale community members of all disciplines and levels of expertise are encouraged to attend.
