Dr. Ben Zweibelson (Director of U.S. Space Command’s Strategic Innovation Group), and Dr. Matthew Schmidt (Associate Professor of National Security and Political Science at the University of New Haven), will be discussing AI and the Future of Space Conflict with members of the Kimball Smith Series and the Joseph P. Allen i5 Space Squadron. Dr. Zweibelson, having produced a multitude of Marine Corps University Press (USMC JAMS) articles on the integration of advanced technologies into the space domain (The Singleton ParadoxWhale Songs of Wars Not Yet Waged) will speak alongside Dr. Schimdt, frequent consultant to CNN and BBC on U.S. military innovation in counterinsurgency, on a moderated panel. The panelists aim to clarify how space, cyberspace, special operations, and AI may radically disrupt what we currently understand as modern war between states. Yale community members of all disciplines, levels of expertise, and military affiliations are encouraged to attend.
